I was also surprised by the large number of freelancers, tele-commuters and other work-from-home consultants. My anecdotal count was about 50%. This made me glad I picked the topic I did: <strong>passion + inspiration = innovation</strong>.<br

/> This could have been the basis for a much longer talk, but I wanted to fit the core pieces of the process and philosophies I used to quit my job 6 years ago (ok, I was fired), to become a freelance consultant, and more recently organize a team to begin work on a Web 2.0 idea that seems to have legs.</p><p>One part entrepreneurial rally cry, two parts iterative dissection of internet trends, and one part philosophical meta-rant; this talk adds up to be one hell of a thought provoker &#8211; at the minimum &#8211; and could easily be expanded upon.</p><p>I&#8217;m going to post the pdf for now, but I&#8217;m plan on breaking each slide down in future posts.
